OK so here are the pros and cons. Pros & Cons ● Very clean complex. ● Drinks and Service are good but long queues due to busy times. ● Food is mostly Luke warm however a wide range and choice. ● Can get extremely busy at meal times, really hectic. ● Brilliant pool and slides. ● Entertainment was woeful. ● I would say staff in general do an amazing Job. ● Lodges you don't have neighbours, you actually have lodgers, the walls are so thin. ● Jacuzzi and balinese beds are rammed so close to next door we may as well have shared, zero privacy and can hear everything, would say not worth the room upgrade cost. ●food trucks are good. ● Gin bar was brilliant. Now comes the most annoying part for me. The different tiers of all inclusive and the cost to upgrade. I got quoted double the price than what I would have been charged at time of booking to upgrade to ultra all-inclusive. When others were quoted much less it seems as if they pluck a figure when it suits. Why is this not fixed price and even adjusted weekly to reflect demand etc. This now seems to be pushed into your face encouraging you to upgrade at whatever price they see fit. So what else have they added to annoy or encourage, ● speedy queue at bar beat to the minnons for a drink. ● separate seating area at dinning so you don't have to sit next to the peasants. ● balinese beds at the pool included keeping you separate from the unwashed. ● Can't get on the free bus into town unless you're Ultra. ● Excessive cost to dine in other restaurants to further encourage you to upgrade to ultra as it would be included. Of course this may work out value for money depending what you get charged but If I book all inclusive it should mean that. I do get its a business and after covid there is a need to maximise profits, but for me this put me off from the start and would be the main factor discouraging me returning. Maybe if ultra gave me some sound proofing and privacy screens I'd sign up instantly. Of course my main reason for booking was the pool scene and slides etc and they got my pass marks for this. Just a few things needing improved that could make this place so much better.
Kids will enjoy but adults will be disappointed
Arrived near to midnight due to flight times - none of the food places were open, understandably, but there wasn’t so much as a welcome drink at the reception. You were eventually given a ‘packed lunch’ but this consisted of a tin of pate, a tin of tuna salad, a small cartoon of fruit juice and a sandwich. Fussy eaters or vegetarians would likely struggle so I’d advise having some snacks with you if you know you’re likely to get here late at night. We were supposed to be ultra all-inclusive, which should have meant we had our mini-bar filled and waiting for us. However, they forgot to fill this for the first 3 days of our holiday - despite prompting several times and asking to speak to the manager. Food at the main buffet restaurant is okay - the kids area will cater for most if you’re looking for chips, pasta and sausages. Again I think vegetarians might find the choices limited. But there is always lots of fruit and lots of cakes to keep the kids happy. The Robin Forest Cafe does a nice wee kebab and chips at lunch if you’re looking for a mid-afternoon snack and generally queues move quickly for drinks at the bar. Milkshakes with cream went down a treat for the wee ones. In terms of entertainment at night I’d say it was generally okay but it starts late so our 2 year old was sleeping most evenings in the pram by this time. There’s several soft play areas in the hotel and one is near reception, which was good at night for the older ones to play while adults had a drink. The bigger pool area has a variety of slides which were well enjoyed by the kids. The baby pool is also and the soft play near them is helpfully fenced in so easier when dealing with cheeky toddlers. Beware that those super cool inflatables available to buy in the hotel are then not allowed in many of the pools areas! Be prepared for the kids to use them next to your sunbed. The pool area towards the far end of the resort also has a brilliant kids pool with slides for younger kids. The bigger pool here is a bit more relaxed with the in-pool loungers and it’s much less crowded. I’d recommend here if you aren’t going to use the big flumes that often. We visited the zoo and the water park in one day. The zoo was brilliant and took us hours to go round and I think we actually missed some stuff out. The animal show was excellent - you get to see some birds of prey up close and the info is interesting too. The water park was good though the water was too chilly for me! Nice variety of slides for different age groups BUT beware that sunbeds are €5 each and they charge rental on the rings to go down some slides. So it could become a pricey day out. Take stuff from breakfast and/or the mini bar so save spending as much while you are there. The Robin Hood show on the Saturday night was excellent fun. Think Game of Thrones retelling Robin Hood - men on horseback, some shouting and singing and some stunts too. Audience engagement is pretty decent but there’s a few wee snagging points. If you have a small baby in a pushchair (asleep for example) you will have to sit in the very back row. Otherwise they need to sit with you which can be a challenge when they aren’t quite a baby but not big enough for a seat yet. The soup was alright but the main course is extremely meat based - chicken on the bone, ribs, sausage and then one potatoe and a bit of green veg. If I was to do it again I’d use the buffet to get some food first and then not have to rely on the food for dinner. The kids were still hungry afterwards. But all in all worth a trip for something different. The show is quite long so if you’ve got an antsy kid then maybe take something else to keep them amused just in case. On the last day your band stops working at 12. If you are checking out late this is a pest as not only will you not have a room but you’re supposed to pay for drinks and food until your bus arrives. This does seem cheeky given that you pay for 7 days yet if you arrive late on the first day you only end up with 6 days of food and drink. Then they take a half day off again. Worthwhile emptying the contents of the mini bar if you have one or stocking up a bit at breakfast again. Otherwise, you might be looking for kind-hearted friends to get you a drink until you leave. Overall, the kids (2, 4 and 9) had a brilliant time and loved the pools and games areas. Adults were a bit disappointed by the food and by the service.
Not a good experience and won't be back
