Jupiter Albuferia is a 5 star family-friendly resort, located in the heart of the town. The little guests can make a splash on the infants’ waterslides, while taller kids can take on the rides housed at the thrilling Jupiter World waterpark. If you have a child who prefers to read or go for a gentle swim, they are welcome to make the quiet pool area their home. The main pool boasts a lively atmosphere where guests can have fun with inflatable toys before swimming up to the bar for a refreshing beverage.
Kids club activities take place with the animation team poolside and in the indoor play area. In the daytime the programme includes painting, water games and mud moulding, while there’s a mini-disco in the evening. Parents might decide to join a meditation session or take it easy in the spa. Here, you can book a 90-minute Aqua Soul Circuit, a relaxing massage or a beauty treatment (surcharge applies). Small groups of children are permitted to access the spa between the hours of midday and 2pm.
The onsite gym is free to access for guests. It’s equipped with modern cardiovascular and bodybuilding equipment, while the state-of-the-art plasma screens will help keep you on track with your goals. If you want a little motivation, you can hire a personal trainer. But that’s not the only form of exercise on offer, you could choose to join an archery or aqua fitness session. Alternatively, for a more gentle approach there’s yoga and pilates.
The main buffet restaurant, Montechoro, remains open from 7am to 3pm, with the national and international dishes being rotated to offer a breakfast service, followed by brunch and then lunch. It reopens at 7pm for dinner. If you’re staying for a week on an all inclusive basis, you can enjoy one evening meal at the a la carte Taberna Portuguesa and another at Alecrim.
At Alecrim the chef, Carlos Guerreiro, cooks up specialities including sea bass, confit cod, beef steak and Algarve orange pie. Taberna Portuguesa is decorated with artwork illustrating Portuguese history. As you are eating, your ears will be treated to a Fado performance, a type of music which originated in 1820s Lisbon. You may choose to devour a bottle of green wine from the Douro Valley with your meal. A further restaurant option, Al Italiu, serves pastas and fresh crispy pizzas at lunchtime and in the evenings.
The Al Bar is located on the ground floor with a terrace, providing the perfect place to grab a cocktail. During the day the self-service Alfarroba, next to Jupiter World, provides drinks, snacks, sandwiches and fruit. In the evening, maybe grab a pre or post-dinner drink at the 10th floor Al Gharb Bar, while admiring the sun setting over Albuferia.
Classic rooms are a generous 40m2 and can accommodate up to 2 adults and 2 children. At Jupiter Albuferia single parents haven’t been overlooked, with an alternative option permitting 1 adult and up to 3 children. What if your family is two adults, two children and one baby? Choose from the family, deluxe and suite options. If you upgrade to a Panoramic Sea View you will get a room on the 7th floor or higher, with a balcony offering fantastic vistas.
For getting out and about, the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle to the golden sandy beach. Here you can sunbathe, go for a swim or climb up to admire the beautiful cliff and rock formations. If it’s a calm day, maybe take a boat trip to view the Benagil Caves, or go out in search of dolphins. For a fun way of exploring the area, take a tourist train. There’s two different circular routes; you could get off at any stop and venture on foot or take it easy and remain on board for the entire route.

We as a family had a great time together
We arrived here quite late at night, but pleasantly surprised at how friendly and knowledgable the man on the reception was who checked us in. They made us food to take to our room as it was really late even though we had allready declined. The rooms are nice and clean but don’t look out to much. The halls, as mentioned in previous reviews are disgusting. We as a family werent fussed with the food. We ate breakfast, sometime didn’t bother with lunch and most nights ate out for dinner. My opinion of the food is the presentation looks herrendous like slops, most food is bland or tasteless, the meal choices are very repetitive. I honestly can’t see how any one enjoys it. Pool area is great but very slippy. Plenty for kids and adults to do through the day and on an evening the entertainment is decent enough for a bit. The Jet2 rep is a bit like marmite. She does her job but not very forthcoming, we had the zoo marine included in our stay. (Zoo marine opens at 10 and shuts at 5pm) however weren't picked up till 10 and had to be back on the bus at 4pm so lost out on two hours there so everything there seemed like an absolute rush. They email you a letter but don’t think to tell you to get it printed before hand. Also note that we arrived the Thursday night and Friday we just wanted to enjoy the day the Saturday we wanted to book zoo marine to be told it was open Wednesday to Saturday so nearly didn’t get there as we were only there for a week anyway but this wasn’t relayed to us at any point until it was nearly to late. We as a family had a good time there as it is what you make it. We met some great people. I would just think if you are a bit funny with food or have certain tastes I would potentially take extra spending money as the strip is a 10 minute walk to find good food and bars.
