Antalya is a real holiday hotspot in Turkey. Sitting on the Turkish Riviera, you'll find a wealth of resorts in this region, each with its own distinctive character. Lara Beach is the place to go for a cross between Vegas-style glamour and a historic old town. Then you've got Side, a quiet beach village with a chic harbourside, amazing ancient sites, and soft sandy beaches. Along the coast, Belek is home to pristine championship golf courses, spectacular scenery, and gorgeous beaches. If you love your history then this is the right spot for you, as you'll be within easy reach of the famous Roman city of Perga.
Stay in an All Inclusive hotel in Bodrum if you'd like to live the high life. Here you can visit the ruins of the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, which dates back more than 2,300 years and is one of Turkey's most important archaeological sites. Or see the beautiful paintings and costumes of the Zeki Muren Arts Museum, before heading to the Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archaeology.
Bodrum is also known for its sandy beaches and very warm water, and temperatures that regularly climb well over 30°C in the summer, so make sure you pack plenty of Factor 50. If you're after a peaceful holiday,
Ölüdeniz and its shimmering lagoon are ideal. You'll probably recognise it from postcards or brochures of Turkey, but nothing compares to seeing it in real life. The unique Blue Lagoon is known for its deep aquamarine and turquoise colour and is perfect for scuba diving and snorkelling. You can also visit some spectacular caves nearby, and enjoy amazing views of the coast and Mount Babadağ.
